A Quick Diversion For Our Regular Schedule

Since moaning about "the never ending knitting project of doom"
things have not improved. I have decided that the only way I'll get this finished is to alternate my time with a more challenging one. It's the self bribery that will get me through to the end - "If you do 10 rows of numbing stitches, you can knit a leaf on the cool project". It works for small children & it is working well for me.

After a rocky start (largely, I would like to say, due to instructions that don't make sense to me) I am on my way.

You can see the stems in the first photo don't go where stems usually do. I have fixed it in the second picture.

This is a modification from a baby hat pattern that I thought would make a gorgeous edge to my pinwheel baby blanket. With 5 babies due before the end of the year ( I mean, ones that I know personally) I wanted something that isn't the same as all of the millions of other blankets around.
