A Stitch In Time

will drive you nuts if it part of 10000000000000 gazzilion miles of stockinette stitch.

I have tried to think of ways to explain what kind of knitting terrors I have been going through & the best I can think of is "arrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!"

May I present Pignoli. A soul destroyingly simple knit from Berroco. It has taken me days longer than it should have to just get this far, because its miles & miles of numbing stockinette (200 rows of 200 or something similar) starts to send me loopy the second I pick it up. I have done nearly everything I can think of to avoid knitting this bag (except clean my room). Even the rapidly encroaching birthday of the intended recipient has done nothing to increase its appeal to me.

I'm not sure what has caused this to become target of my direct & focused hatred. Maybe it is too simple for me (now I am making efforts to learn knew techniques with each new project), maybe it is the shallow 2 week lead time I gave myself, or the pressure of all the other promised (& unfulfilled) knits that came before it. Or the nasty, loosley spun, easily breakable yarn....

Or it could be that I have a perfectly lovely, half completed project waiting in the wings for some love and attention & that each moment with the Pignoli is another moment not spent with my wonderous apple green pinwheel blanket.
