Crafty Sistas

Since coming to Mountain View ( & with a little assistance from the US Department of Immigration) I have developed a lifestyle that includes a HELL of alot of spare time. I think this is fabulous (although our bank manager might not agree) & have been able to start a heap of crafty projects that have been on my mind for ages. I have done more knitting than I expected (although, amazingly, none of it has been for me yet) & have even become organised enough to be - wait for it - PLANNING birthday & Christmas presents for 2007!!! I know. A system breathtaking in its simplicity, but yet in the previous 30 years of my life, amazingly difficult to action.

Anyway, it seems there are a handful of other such fortunate individuals in town & I am lucky enough to spend a couple of days a week at coffee shops, art gallerys or crafty womens houses chatting & making. We dont always get down to the same activity & this weeks was a fine example. Lousie & Dina scrapbooked while I toiled away on the needles.

Dina has been wanting to learn to knit & this is stupendously exciting as I think everyone should knit - absolutely EVERYONE. I'm betting this would make the world would be a much lovelier place. So I'm goign to try & teach her some of the basics of knitting & as a means of bartering, I got to go & learn how to make some seriously delicious Indian Veg food. yummo!

All Dinas work - Aloo Parathas & Brinjal. My parathas were half as big & hexagonal?!?
