Joy of joys

Those of you who know Kyn & myself will know that the primary reason for us coming to the UK was to pay off the mortgage on our Australian home. The wages IT professionals can command combined with the phenominal underperformance of the Australian dollar make this possible. Instead of spending 25 years plugging away at the mortgage, it is possible to see it off in a relatively short time.

Twleve months of dilligent saving - not buying underwear when the existing stuff hangs on by a thread - have made it possible.


I'm not sure that the enormity of this will hit us until we are at home & have alot more spare money than we are used to having. In the mean time, we will be using all the extra to enjoy oursleves here - something that has been put off while we squirrelled away all of our pennies.
