Major points of interests occuring today. Too tired for complete sentences.
- Repair guy came this morning. Proclaimed that our water situation was, contrary to council belief, an emergency. He walked up the stairs to diagnose the problem. Didn’t use the expensive scaffolding being billed to our landlord. Then mentioned that he didn’t fix boilers, just roofs & organised for a boiler repairer to turn up on Thursday.
- During the day more cracks appeared in the ceiling. The older cracks have started to turn yellow. The carpet is probably ruined in several places. It is now raining from the front door to completely the opposite side of the flat. There is a curtain of rain chopping the flat in half. It is now also dripping directly out of the ceiling light in the lounge room. Yah.
- The neighbour below is having similar water issues. His began yesterday after the water had seeped down through our walls to his kitchen. He didn't seem to believe we had done anything about it - UNTIL he tried to contact the council himself. Even though he is a tenant of theirs, they told him he would have to get a written letter from us saying we had taken it up with the council. He was supposed to mail or hand deliver this letter to the council?????????????????
NOW - FINALLY - SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS OUR PAIN.
- Work was better today. No being yelled at for stupid things. Now all the other staff are too scared to talk to me & the other new bloke. I can’t tell you how this has enhanced the atmosphere in the workplace.
On the bright side, I will be able to afford a sewing machine & a spinning wheel soon. I have even found out that there are a group of local spinners that meet at the Vauxhall City Farm on Saturdays. I'm going to go & meet them this weekend.
They might even have second-hand wheels for sale.
