Kynan & I went over to our friend Sams place. Her flat is on the 7th floor & we had the most awesome view of the celebrations. The fireworks went on in every neighbourhood we could see from about 7pm until midnight. Sam organised a feast & we turned the lights off in her flat & watched the show - with the comfort of central heating & with our good friends, Cheese & Wine. It was a thoroughly fab night.
After the late one last night, today kicked off quite late & we managed to surface at lunchtime. Kynans bike was ready to pick up from it's service so we headed over to Canada Water (over in the Bermondsey/Rotherhide general area). Decathlon is a sports SUPER store - it is so big it had 2 enormous buildings. It's out in an industrial area & has a large manmade pond next to it (stocked with fish for the local anglers, we're told). Anyway, I am a sucker for an underdog & I liked Canada Water & it's dirty, industrial feel, although I dont think I'll have much of a need to go back there anytime soon.
Then this afternoon it was pouring & cold, so it was the perfect time to make a huge vat of steaming pea & ham soup.
Yesterday I discovered a drink I like very much. It's a mixture of Italian blood orange juice & Sprite - and it really is that frightfull fluro orange colour. Yummo!!

My flower garden hand quilt is coming (very slowly) along. I'm going to go in search of some more shirts tomorrow as I'm starting to tire of the colours a bit

Hopefully mum & dad will love it & all of its imperfections (have I mentioned how bad I am at hand sewing?)
