Last Day of 2005

Had a really cruisy last day, today. Kynan went off to work in the morning while I lazed about in bed & rang my grandma & parents to catch up on their Christmas activities. I was still playing on the internet when Kynan got home after lunch. The afternoon was grocery shopping. The short bike ride down to Tescos reminded me of why I should probably take this weekend off from riding.

Tescos was crammed full of people & the experience was thoroughly depressing. As the checkout chick said "People have one public holiday (New Years Day) when they cant do their shopping & they all start to panic".

The depression was only abated when we found the following items:

Finding weird grocery items is fun.

May I present to you (in decending order):

Hunger Breaks All Day Breakfast in a can - including, baked beans, sausages, button mushrooms, chopped pork & egg nuggets (?) & bacon. Kynan was starving when we went shopping.

Heinz Spaghetti Heads & Funky Fish. Spaghetti in shapes. I am particularly looking forward to the heads.

Heinz Baked Beans in Jalfrezzi, Tikka & Mexican flavours. To be consumed with baked potatoes as this weeks lunches.

The afternoon contained more lazing about , finished another little jumper (a gift for a person I work with) & then I went to bed at 10pm. Kynan woke me up at 11pm after a brief recognisance mission to Lambeth Bridge discovered that no one was down there for the firework display. So, thermos in had, we wandered down the road for the festivities. By the time we got there the numbers had increased, but we still managed to get a riverside position. Not really a very long or interesting display compared to Sydney’s big bang each year, but a nice way to bring in the New Year nevertheless.

Happy New Year to all my family & friends. Hope you glide safely through this year. I expect to see a few of you over for visits at some stage :)
