Smoking in pubs

Lordy lord. I LOVE going into the pubs over here. They seem like fine places to relax & the one nearest my house has large ceiling to floor windows that make it feel like a bright & airy place. It even feels bright & airy when it's raining - which is a complete mystery to me. The leather sofas are a very appealing place to park yourself for an hour or 2. What I dont like so much is the fact that you are still allowed to smoke inside over here. I wont carry thing post on into an anti smoking rage, but I will say I find it a real pain in the arse to have to wash all my clothes each time I drop in. And my hair - as you can see from the banner - is enormous & takes a lot of effort to wash. Not the pubs fault I know, but the thought of having to "de-smoke" everything once I leave is now enough to make me not want to go there in the first place. Luckily there is a park next door - unluckily it is heading for winter here (and the bar service & couches in the park leave a lot to be desired!)

I only mention this because I like to whinge. No, seriously, Kynan & I got to meet up with some friends of ours from home this evening. Nic & Mick have been travelling about for 4 months now - all around Europe mostly - & have dropped in to the UK for a quick week of wizzing about in a hire car. It was awesome to see them & they looked alot less exhausted than I thought they would. Anyway, back to the story..... we went to a couple of the local pubs near here to sample the stone fired pizza & down a few bevies. We came out 2 hours later smelling like we fell asleep in someones ashtray. It was thoroughly off putting & will make me think twice about dragging any future visitors through there - even if the pizza was the best pizza I've had in London (and a bargain at £6 for 2)

Happy trails Naruns & goatman. I wish you safe travels for the rest of your time away.
