Burning Down the House
Things I have learned this week:-
- House fires are stunningly easy to set
- You don't need to try particularly hard, infact, a lack of attention often helps
- They take very little time to catch nearby items alight
- They scare the shit out of you. Especially if, mid-fire, you realise you have no contents insurance
- You'd be surprised at how many of your belongings are flammable
- Burning plastic not only smells horrendous but also vaporises, invades your respiratory system & makes you feel like puking for the following few days
- Trying to put out a plastic fire with water is a VERY BAD idea
- A better idea would be to own an ABC rated fire extinguisher
- Smoke combined with vaporised plastic doesn't actually wipe off the walls. It becomes a sticky mess that even the more muscley degreasers have trouble shifting
- Having a house fire is a great way to use up those 4 free days between semesters. Holidays are highly overrated
