The yarn shop was okay. I believe that it has been around for a lot longer than most of the others that have sprung up during the knitting resurgence of the past couple of years. I've got to be honest & say that I would only use this yarn store in cases of extreme knitting emergencies. They have a reasonable supply of yarns, books & patterns, but their service was lacking. They were really keen at showing me patterns I was interested in looking at, but seemed to get really pissy when I didn't buy the patterns I was looking at. It really put a downer on the experience. The last thing you need is attitude for not purchasing (especially when you had already bought $30 worth of needles)

Morning in Los Altos
This morning is went off to Los Altos to check out Uncommon Threads yarn shop. It one of the last ones I haven't looked at in the local area, so thought it was worth the trip. I got there a bit too early (US shops - or maybe Californian shop - don't usually open before 10am) & was presented with an opportunity to sit at a coffee shop & eat a cupcake. Mmmm, I'm not one to ignore signs from the universe & certainly don't need to be asked twice.
