Today Trish, Ashwin & I trundled of to the Legion of Honor (or the "CA Legion of the Palace O" as our misguided Garmin GPS unit Karen kept referring to it as) to see the newly opened "Masterpieces of French Jewelry" exhibition. The exhibition was reasonably interesting with, as usual, the majority of the most beautiful pieces being used in the advertising. It was also sightly misleadingly labeled, as the complete title of the exhibition was "Masterpieces of French Jewelry from American Collections". The only place this is mentioned is on the enormous billboard as you walk into the exhibition room itself. This is AFTER you have paid to see it. Not that this would have stopped me wanting to go, but I guess my expectations would have been slightly lowered.
Regardless, we had a great time. Trish got to drink Fufu Berry Juice (cunningly labeled creaming soda), Ashwin ate chips off the ground & I snaffled my way through a chicken caesar salad.
After lunch we decided to hunt down Imagiknit, a San Franciscan knitting institution that none of us had been to before. After a hell of a lot of demented driving (sorry guys!) we found a car spot that wasn't on a road at a 45 degree angle. Yah for San Francisco & it's hills....
And inside, a cleverly organised mecca of yarn in all it's glory. Just looks at how excited Trish was - & that was only the first half of the first room!
And I was so excited I could barely hold the camera still. Oh, how embarrassing is the public love of yarn.....
Photos NOT taken that day: gorgeous green yarn (picked by the youngest member of our yarn hunting team) that Trish will turn into a hoodie for Ashwin, beautiful whippet that lives in the store, fab-o apricot oatcake bought at coffee shop next door.
