I have found a new & exciting sport to take over from the "work dream team" game we used to play at my former workplace.
(Work dream team = pick all the people you would sack & all the people you would keep if you were allowed to rule your work for a day. Then play them off against other "team" your mates have created. Argue for the skills your team members posess. Great morale lifting game for those days when you cant bare the people you work with any longer)
New game - "What to spend your money on when you get paid monthly"
Having just gone from weekly pay in my previous job, to monthly pay at my current workplace, I have been broke now for 5 weeks. I get paid tomorrow & I estimate I have spent upwards of 20 hours dreaming about what I can do with all the money that is about to come streaming in!
It's awesome. Like winning the lottery. One day I think "Oooh, I'm going to go straight to the nearest wool shop & buy up big", next day I think "I could buy some snazzy coloured doc martens". I have been carrying on like this for 3 weeks now and it really illustrates to me that most of the joy in buying things is the expectation. Kind of like the organising & planning of a holiday.
I know I wont do most of those things I have been talking about, but I love thinking about it.
